A client’s organisation generates a large amount of cardboard waste, which costs them a lot of money to dispose of, while on the other hand, as an ecommerce company, hundreds of customers’ orders are shipped out with fresh packaging materials. Our contribution to this organisation’s effort to save cost and reduce waste was to introduce a circular economy principle to convert the waste cardboard to be reused for fresh orders or converted into void filling packaging materials. This simple but impactful exercise saw a 90% reduction in the cost of waste collection as well as a 50% reduction in the cost of new packaging cardboards.
